Hello! This is a cowl I made a year ago using this pattern by Lindsi.
It worked up quick and looked fantastic. Caron Simply Soft definitely lived up to its name. It felt great against my neck and face, which is ideal for a cowl. Unfortunately, its durability isn’t so great. After one year of wearing it and washing it maximum three times, it has become quite frayed and almost carpet like. You may even call it, a cowltastrophe. Tips of preserving and taking care of projects made with 100% acrylic yarn is much appreciated.

This pattern used simple stitches a chain stitch, single crochet stitch, double crochet stitch. Now you may see the “dc4tog” in the pattern, but no worries this is easy and doable. Lindsi provides a great description of how to do it.
Since this pattern requires different types of stitches, I definitely would not suggest this as your very first project. A good quick project for a beginner is something like this ribbed hat by Ami.
Happy crocheting!
- Jessica
